A group of 36 young adults say “Thanks, Chad, for the awesome lunch!”
The Taco Bake was amazing … and the caesar salad … and the freshly baked suger cookies.
- Good to have you back home, Brad!!

Because this is a summer small group and open to anyone college age, I thought the discussions would be on the lighter side and we would have to fill the time more with “fun” activities. Boy, was I wrong. Because of the nature of college age students, the group is so energetic and dynamic. The discussions are substantive and challenge me on so many levels. People aren’t shy to contribute, which makes the discussions lively. Time flies by so quickly that I wish it could go on for many more hours. Actually, even after the
small group is over, most of us stay for a couple more hours to either play games or just chat and catch up on each other’s week.
Although we missed several people when the pictures were taken, the pictures give a good glimpse into the summer small group. Based on how much fun we have and how exciting the group is, we’ve already had a discussion on the possibility of extending the small group into August. So, if you are a college age student and still on the fence about whether or not to join us, please jump in and check us out. It’s not too late.
As someone who is doing the summer small group for the first time, I could only gauge my expectations on what I was told. The fact that I had heard that several people had been asking about the small group back in the spring and looking forward to it, told me that it was going to be an exciting small group. Having a total of 14 people show up on the first night totally blew me away and got me really excited.

Thirty-nine young adults gathered for 2nd Sunday Lunch today! Ya’s small group prepared a delicious taco bar and fabulous desserts for the crowd as well as decorating the cafeteria for a fiesta. It was fun to celebrate Ya and the friendship we have with her, but sad to think about the fact that she will be returning home to Cambodia in just a couple of weeks. We enjoyed having new people join us as well as having friends from out of town return for the event.
Got time to spare? The Young Adult Ministry will be meeting at Strike N Spare West, 2660 W. Lawrence Ave at 6:30pm on Mondays, June 14 & 21. Cost is $1/game plus shoe rental. Need more info…call or text Kalyan at (309) 259-0340. In the meantime, enjoy these photos of a previous bowling adventure.
